I used the PPS system on my red planter. I was very satisfied with the performance. I’ll use the closing system on the red planters as an example of why I don’t think bearings are a good solution. The closing disc arms have a bearing in them that simply rotates a minimal amount as the arms move vertically. They eventually lock up and if not caught in time, will wear out the cast arms. Bushings in the parallel arms have worked for many years, why try to reinvent the wheel? I’m also a firm believer that modern day bearing quality isn’t what it used to be.
