^^ This, and I believe the push to lower lending standards was part of the Clinton legacy.
Ironically, The 2008 era mortgage crisis made it possible to buy our farmplace. Credit was still tight yet in 2011 when we bought. The property had been listed for quite a long time in part because buyers couldn't get the money.
