| I always appreciate your input. I think focusing on efficiency is paramount. Government got fat. Some level of this is important. Our IT dept refers to the squeal test. Sometimes you do not think you need something, but you cannot say with 100% certainty what is dependent on that, so you turn it off and see if anything or anyone squeals. Thats a loose anology to cutting gov spending. Somethings that Elon cuts will get turned back on, but alot won't.
Zooming into the individual level, yes, without question there will be some people get their lives uprooted. It sounds cold, but welcome to the party gov employees. Ag manufacturers are notorious for feast or famine, overtime or furlough. Job market still is strong, albiet it probably will require relocation and or pay cut. There will be tough situations and I always hate stuff like that for the kids especially. I survived a finically stressed household when I was young, but we never had to move away from my friends. Many will have it tough. Unfortunately we can't keep unnecessary fat and inefficiency. Some pain is required in a functioning economy. | |
