| I had a late 90's semi with a 12.7 Detroit that would start every time without being plugged in at 10 degree F.... when I bought my next semi with a 12.7 Detroit (glider with a pre-emmision engine) it was terrible, don't bother at 40degree unless it was plugged in. I realized the starter was spinning the engine somewhat slower and upon investigation, the 12.7 could be ordered with different starters. I swapped starters and it now spins the motor over faster and it will start much better. | |
