Fruita CO
I had a customer with a 644B JD loader, he bought it used. Always started hard, he tried batteries, cables, ground, everything...it was as bad hot as cold, so worn-out pump, right? (531T with a Roosamaster pump...) Had the pump rebuilt, no improvement...finally decided to have the starter rebuilt, even though it looked fairly new, & while pulling it I noticed the solenoid was stamped 24V...OK then...it was a 12V system...new 12V starter fixed it! That loader was available with either 12 or 24V system, the PO had put the wrong starter on. Probably parts man's mistake...
