Subject: RE: Engine starting differences

Wisconsin
An intake grid heater makes a big difference, same with glowplugs. Compression is often the issue if it won't start at 50, higher compression pistons can help some engines when they're rebuilt. The condition of the starter, battery and connections is important, and gear reduction starters are typically faster than direct drive. Timing and fuel pattern may play a role also, couldn't guess how much.
