| Here’s something to think about. As regular folk the wealthy do appear to have advantages that we aren’t able to enjoy. It is easy to see a system that is stacked against us in favour of the ultra wealthy.
It is also true that from the viewpoint of those in poverty the middle class do appear to have advantages that they aren’t able to enjoy. It is easy to see a system that is stacked against them in favour of the middle class.
I think an honest person would have to say that both of those concepts are true, maybe even valid.
With that in mind consider this. It is easy to sell the poor on the concept that it is only fair to tax the middle class to support the poor. It’s important to note that while the middle class might feel they are being generous and giving, the poor often view it as payback and deserved because of unfair advantages enjoyed by the middle class. In fact, sometimes the poor even feel distain towards the middle class because of these perceived advantages.
That same basic concept applies at the next level up as well. It is easy to get the middle class to feel the wealthy have unfair advantages.
I’m not saying everything is always fair, often it is not, but always remember that other people view us as being on the other side of this argument.
