Depth of frost, saturation of the soil, soil type, current temp, length of time the snow sticks around, will all determine how easily it soaks in.
I'd expect fairly dry snow if you're getting 10 inches, and a 10 inch forecast now has a tendency to turn into 2" when all is said and done.
On the other hand, if you have hard frozen clay, and are expecting ten inches of snow, then warm rain, I'd be nervous also. | |
