North of London | Not a great picture but I think you can see how the till handles rounding when paying
In this case to my advantage of 2 cents.
Those who figure out these things say over time rounding works out about even.
Canada got rid of pennies a number of years ago so any pennies submitted for deposit to a bank are returned to the Canadian Mint and taken out of circulation
Many of us still have a few kicking around in change collections but once they get to a bank they are sent to be melted down.
Hope the picture shows ok enough to see how store handles it
