Subject: Left Shoulder Reverse Replacement

Lone Wolf Ok
Jan 7 had procedure done - Post Surgery tested positive for Covid (PCR) moved to Covid floor/wing - no signs on door/no note in chart - several hospital staff entered without masks -- LOL - next morning retested for Covid (short test) and Negative - Home with Percoset. Waited till nerve block wore off to take. Stayed on them for 12 hrs till the itching showed up -- nothing since. Virtually no pain - slight discomfort where the implant was pounded into my arm. @ day 4 needed to drive, Sling was PIA -- Day 5 sling off - mobility has increased daily. I was extremely careful, but continued to get things accomplished. I made a door pull from PVC/Street L and T that could be used to put into door handles and pull drivers door closed. Wife was needed to look after Grands - so I batched it. Yesterday was 4 wk f/U - X ray showed all good - Surgeon wants me to regain full mobility (no PT) in next month. I asked if I can plan on driving tractor in 1.5 month and he said - definitely.

So far (fingers crossed) much better recovery than I had been told (6 months)- Full replacement vs 'fix' has definitely been a factor.
