I bought a 665C new. First couple thousand hours it was ok but after that it was a nightmare. Lot of hydraulic problems. If you just wanted to do tillage or grain cart was fine. But bulk fill planter with vacuum just always fought it. At 4000 hours had to put injectors in which was $20,000. I got rid of it.
Fairly common to have injectors done at these hours on lots of engines in the ag world. However if someone soaked you 20,000 to put a set in you got taken for the biggest ride of your life. I sincerely hope you had more work done than just injectors to get charged that.
To the op, Yes the c series wa 2009 to 2011, d series 2012 to 2015?? E series i assume correlated to the 8700 massey series, but i am not sure. Earlier, like any line has a few gremlins, but most should be sorted out by now. Biggest change was the emissions change from c to d series, along with some cab switch changes. No reason to run from either series as long as the price and condition is what they should be. |
