That’s great. Nice that they made it affordable for you. Honest question for everyone… how much are you willing to pay over an average price for the area, just because it is contiguous to your own land?
That's a tough one. I do know that if this same exact type/layout farm was 5 miles away, I would probably have passed on it and saved my limited funds if it was at market price.
It seems that often the difference between turning a profit or just sliding along is in the efficiency I'm able to wring out of the process. My farming is awfully low margin, but there are a lot of repetitive years where one can take that efficiency every year and those profits add up.
With it being a cattle farm next to my existing cattle farm, that gives it a larger boost in my mind that if it was adding a row crop farm to an existing one.
I don't know how much more I would pay, it would be better to ask my banker!
