The Wards farm store was on the SW corner of 5th Ave. and first ST. The building is still there. The Wards main store was on the East side of 2nd ST between 5th and 6th Ave S. That building now houses an antique store. Probably the farm store had wood floors, I don't remember. My father purchased two wagons, a stalk chopper/loader, and some tractor tires there.

The Sears store was on 5th Ave and 4th St. when they built the building they bought the Lincoln Mercury dealership for the building site. The west section was the farm store, the center to the east was sporting goods, clothes, furniture etc. The building is still there but it has several businesses. East of Sears was W. T. Grant a popular establishment at that time. The Lincoln/Mercury dealership moved across the alley onto 6th Ave S. It now is a Nappa store.
