Subject: Soybean Herbicides 30” vs 15”



Central NY
We switched to 15” beans years ago, with a big factor being earlier canopy and weed control.
We still use residuals pre plant and with the post pass with todays weed pressures. Is the 15” beans earlier canopy actually helping us much for weed control? Or can you spray 30” beans at a similar date (mid to late June just before r1 and only 50% ground canopy) with residuals and still get season long control.
Im Tempted to try some 30” beans again to see the yield difference, but don’t want to be waiting to spray 30” beans at a different time. We typically spray 15” beans a few days before the rows touch
