NWMO | Spliting Planter over large acres is a bettter tool than small strip plots... IMO
Being in seed buisness for many years and doing plots field days ect... Seems these always go on best dirt and fairly even soil type... So how do you know what works best on marginal ground... Lots of times a race horse hybrid doesn't do well with stress or on low yield envoriments... I've seen middle of the pack rugged hybrids that never win a plot preform very well on avg farms and plot winners fall flaton thier face... Same can be said for Soybeans... Had a varriety years back that would make mid 40s-50 everywhere but no topend... But you could put that thing on a tough clay/rocky piece that was mid 30s farm most years and it would pump out 40+ consistantly... But never would win a plot... Plot data can be terrable for hybrid selection depending on your area... | |
