Quite a few reasons but at over 70 years old its not a great idea to be out in the feeding area alone on foot when cattle are milling around almost stepping on me. My back feels the pain of handling too many small square bales for too many years even now I mostly feed with rounds. I doubt it was a profitable hobby but I enjoyed it a lot of the time. Will be nice not to have to worry about fixing broken fence out in the bush in mosquitos, wood ticks and 90 degree heat too.
Although it was a good way to keep warm on a cool fall day when things were not so busy.
