Subject: RE: Converting Cedar Thicket to Pasture

Central Mo
Had a lot of ground like that when I bought the farm where I live at now. I cleared with a chain saw just like your doing. Back then I couldn’t have paid somebody to mulch it if I wanted to. The stumps were kinda a pain for the first 5-6 years but after that the smaller ones were rotted enough that when brush hogging they would break up a little if I accidentally hit one. To answer your question on what to seed, on rough ground I had the best luck with cereal rye. It seems like it’ll grow anywhere anytime
