| I have a waterer at the long end of a 12 gauge wire so it’s not getting the full current that it needs so I get to chop ice for my oversight. It can keep up until it get 10 deg or so. During extreme cold when the frost infiltrates down and freezes the vertical portion of the waterline I’ve used a hair dryer to thaw (1 inch waterline surrounded by a 4 inch pipe), small generator for portable power which I need to have going for tractors anyway.
