Latimer, Iowa (north central) | Our newest barns we have went with a “loading dock” style where there really is no chute. Build the barn high enough that slat level is the same height as the back of the truck with truck backing directly to the side or end of the barn. Works nice for dropping dead’s off and picking up with loader too.
Depending on your site if you can have the semi sloped forward a bit, the back of the trailer higher than the front, it lessens the degree of slope on the ramp going to the top deck. Even a few degrees helps.
