Michigan | If all you want to do is pull into a field and adjust the airbags and row cleaners for the conditions in that field, and maybe change them once every 20-30 acres if you get into a different soil type or conditions change during the day you do not need a hydraulic compressor. It doesn't take much air to make the small adjustments you are talking about and your electric compressor will have plenty of time to rest and cool down between changes. Hydraulic compressors aren't cheap, might as well use what you already have. I'm not sure why everyone is telling you that you need a hydraulic compressor. Now if you told us that you want to run AirForce with up and down bags then it's a different situation and you need lots of air to make it work correctly. The compressor that is used for Clean Sweeps will not be enough to run AirForce and you'll constantly be getting error messages on the 20/20 screen. I run AirForce with up and down bags and have adjustable row cleaners. On a 12-row planter the biggest electric compressor that Precision offered is not big enough--that's why the made the change to hydraulic. | |
