Subject: RE: Ag Leader Stmm incorrect population

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I use a STTM with a ground drive Deere 1770NT with the high speed sensors. It accurately "keeps up" with the higher planting rates of soybeans.

My older planters could not "keep up" in soybeans at normal speeds with the monitors of that age. I believe the problem was the sensors themselves. If I would slow down the sensors could "keep up" and show an accurate population such as you mention. It seemed like you mentioned that they were accurate at about 2 MPH.

The gain setting does enter into the Ag Leader setup. Honestly I don't remember how the gain business works but our STTM seem to work fine in both corn and soybeans. I assume that when you check your ground speed and total acres they seem to agree with what you know to be true? An error in the setup could explain the situation. For example an error in setting up the row width or ground speed might explain the discrepancy.

It does seem like your sensors are not able to keep up. Our situation is somewhat different in that we don't plant quite that thick. Our population is only around 130K which would help the situation.
