Subject: Ag Leader Stmm incorrect population

Southwest MN
We have a ground drive White 6700 12 row planter with an Ag leader Stmm and Integra display, and we are having issues with it reading the correct population when planting soybeans. We plant soybeans at about 180k (organic, plant high with the intention of pulling some out with aggressive weed control) at 5ish mph. But the population never seems to read over 160k. Planter has Sensor1 dickey john style high rate seed sensors, all sensors have been thoroughly cleaned. Beginning of last season, I put one new sensor on and installed 1 wavevison sensor to see if either would make a difference, but no luck. If I slow way down it does seem to read much closer to right, but I don’t exactly want to plant at 2 or 3mph.

The specs on the sensor1 sensors say they are good for 135 seeds/sec, by my math we are only at 75-80 seeds/sec. Trying to figure out if there is an issue in the system somewhere or if I am just up against the limitations of the system. I have most of the parts to convert the planter to electric drives, but I don’t want to do so until I know that I can accurately read the population. I have not messed with the gain in the calibration at all yet because I was thinking there was something else going on, but maybe that’s the answer.
