Subject: RE: fiberglass or cellulose blown in?

Wisconsin
Yes, it's treated with a little borate for pest control and fire resistance, but mostly amonium sulfate for fire resistance, which is very bad against steel if it gets wet. Cellulose can buffer a huge amount of water, but a leak that gets it wet will corrode steel, not so great against trusses, or holding water over a light tin ceiling.

In every other regard, cellulose is superior and I use it exclusively in houses, but make your own call in a metal roofed shop building. There is no doubt that cellulose is superior to fiberglass for fire resistance.
