Subject: Agco dt225b hydraulic pump dilemma

central iowa
Ok, posted a while back about this tractor losing hydraulics this fall, just got it all back together yesterday and sadly still no hydraulics. Here are the details and my local mechanic (and me) are stumped and he has a couple projects in from of him so it will be a bit until he can devote some time to my issue.

Lost hydraulics instantly in field, hauled home and mechanic checked pressures, no pressure anywhere. Agco wanted him to force oil into the load sense line before we tore into it in case there was a major load sense leak. That did nothing.

I got machine torn apart and before taking lines loose from pump we ran with the cover plate removed and as much oil in cavity as could be left. No oil spraying all over inside, just a waterfall of oil on the back side of pump under what appears to be low pressure (wasn’t sure what i was seeing, but since we were looking for a split line I continued with tear down). Once all lines were removed i discovered that the flange adapter (that hooks to the high pressure steel line) had broken completely off, OK we now know why it instantly quit however still in a little wonderment as to why we didn’t see oil spraying all over inside when we had run it.

Anyway, I also discovered this tractor had been updated to the new style suction system, so decided to spend those dollars on replacing all the lines inside cavity to be safe since most of them had updated part numbers, also decided to replace the pump since tractor has 5100 hours and the pump was original pump to tractor confirmed by part numbers and Sauer danfoss manufacturer serial number. (Will someday post what it all involves to do this pump change, but now am a bit busy trying to figure why still no hydraulics)

Filled cavity to full and started yesterday, no hydraulic functions at all, no brake pedal pressure, no release of park lock, no remotes, no three point. So now I am going back to the no oil shooting all around inside cavity when running with cover removed. If I read the shop manual correctly upon start up the pump momentarily goes to full pumping before going to a state of rest until the load sense tells it to do otherwise. So why did we not have oil shooting out of the pump (and the original pump looked to be in very good shape inside upon inspection). Is there something that could have not liked the going from full pressure to zero pressure when the fitting broke? Something that could have caused a spring to break, a valve to jam up something???

Hoping someone has seen something like this while I wait on mechanic to get freed up in a day or two

Also, I did not prime the pump, since local mechanic had not on the ones he had done, and a couple others i talked to who had done this didn’t either, but i did see the manual said you could pour some oil in a fitting to “assist in helping pump prime”, so I guess that is a possibility, but keep going back to that no pressure deal from original running without cover on and thinking that the issue I have now was actually the same issue then, but once seeing the broken fitting just assuming that that had to be the entire problem and now realizing there must be something else.

Thanks
