Subject: RE: Ford 5.4 engines

SE Michigan
Had one in 2003 F-250 that I bought new. Not a powerhouse, but that was kinda expected. I sold the truck in 2017 with 54,000 miles. One coil pack was replaced and (2) sets of manifolds, gaskets and studs. (that was my biggest complaint about that engine) As you can see by the milage, it sat a lot and was used on short trips, basically only a farm duty truck. It did its share of towing also. It is possibly because of my (lack) of driving lead to the second set of manifolds or if the first ones were not the best, but still it "worked" in the truck for me. A good friend of mine sold his expedition a few yrs ago with around 300K on the 5.4 with only routine maintenance, not sure of the year.
