North Central OH | The electrics ones can tell you more than the carbon but the carbon will give a better true load number. I don't have a true carbon pile but have a similar resistance heater type load tester its only good to tell amps and for the most part it the batter is good or bad. Also have a viking brand electric one from harbor that that analyzes the batteries, mainly the resistance I think. So far has been accurate estimates the cca, reports voltage, percent of charge, percent health, and resistance, also weather it is good or bad spelled out. The digital is easier to carry and gives a little more detailed picture, haven't tested it yet but will likely indicate a poor battery before a carbon pile. I haven't used the dump tester since I bought the digital, con is the one I have won't do 6V.

Other style one I have https://www.harborfreight.com/100-amp-612v-battery-load-tester-61747... Not as good as a true carbon pile in the first place. | |
