West Chazy, New York | You're at 55 percent. A dairy would probably aim for 60 to 65 with heat detection rather than timed breeding, but there are lots of dairies that would consider 55 normal. Where the dairy would likely differ from you would be breeding repeats on heat detection and maybe catching half of the repeats at three weeks.
Our vet used to say that when preg checking on a cold day at least one hand stayed warm.
