KY | roo - 1/20/2025 20:02 There is a company that pops up on Facebook that makes electric mats you lay down on concrete to melt the ice and snow. Not sure what they cost but looked like a good way to clear up a sidewalk without using salt.
We've started deploying those mats around at our plants on the main walkways. They work, but for any sort of length or larger footprint they get tricky to find enough separate ckts to connect them to. Would probably be okay for elderly folks' side walk to the vehicle or whatever, but if it's that cold to be of concern how are they clearing their windshield safely and whatnot? Can't imagine living where that's a yearly concern and not having an attached garage, at least if it's slick, you're stuck in a warm vehicle and not laying on the frozen driveway. |
