The only drawback to the ones I have is they're hand wash only.
I'm on year two with my socks and they've always been thrown in with the other laundry, into the washing machine, and dryer. I've yet to see any ill effects with my socks.
I tried regular laundry with mine and they got too small to put on. Had to hand wash and hang dry to get them back where I could put them on.
