Thumb of Michigan | Frankenmuth Michigan has heated sidewalks. Lots of it if I remember correctly. Town is based on among other things, walking between shops. I guess its been successful for them anyway.
Entry way to our shop and office isn't real big, maybe 4 X 8. East side, gets a lot of drifting and little sun to melt ice. We ran insulation under and around slab and ran pipes when we poured, has its own run. Works slow if you turn it on after the fact, but it works well. I have no clue how much it takes to run it, but I do know how much the bill is when you fall on the ice and bend or break something. | |
