Holly Hill, SC | I think you need to set up your boom to be correct for your row spacing with the correct overlap as mention in the other post. The fence tip needs to be extra and on my farm is very important. I use this fence tip for all edges of fields, around power poles, coming in wide on auto steer line (don't want to leave that tear drop gap unsprayed, nor do I want to back up and respray)
On my new sprayer JD 408R with 100' booms, I modified it to 102' boom to work with my 36" rows (34 rows). Drew it on CAD to get things right. Not ideal but added a tip at about 10" and put a slight angle on the tubing to feather a little extra spray out to compensate for not perfect driving. Also will reduce the last tip size down 50 to 75%.
My latest fence is a teejet OC 08 (half tip) mounted at 45 degrees. This gives a nice pattern and is cheaper than the Hypro fast boomless tips. I put the fence tips on this sprayer myself versus ordered with. I did it for about $50 each.
