Subject: John Deere 270 Poclain E-Brake

Skidsteer had crunching feeling/grabbing in both travel directions on LH drive. Removed chaincase cover, found no damage. Found when E-Brake is engaged it will not only NOT hold anything on the LH side, but the grabbing and crunching stops completely. I imagine the emergency brake has come apart, not sure why brake on equals smooth travel other than pinching broken clutch discs just out of the way of the teeth on the shaft. Don't want to spend too much time/money pulling it and repairing it as it's a backup backup skidsteer. What about capping the emergency brake lines for LH side? Brake doesn't work anyway and it will be engaged with the lines capped. Anyone have experience with this issue?
