This sounds like a perfect example of paralysis by analysis. You're so worried about what might go wrong that you are scared to do anything. Happiness will never come from making a whole bunch of money. Find what you're passionate about and get to work. If you can't decide what you're passionate about, just get a job, start working, and see what doors open.
