Cherokee iowa | Well here we are. Bumping up against that elusive $2 on paper. Cold bitter cold in the north and south! Didn’t get over -5 all day and wind making it feel like -33. The cattle waters were open so decided to go ice fishing. Talk about a slow bite left early to do chores before sun goes down. I’ve been hearing “bird flu” is taking a lot of protein off the shelves. Never a good thing. Eggs and asparagus are almost same $ per pound to hamburger. I look for a strong United States going forward that wants American production. So many things can happen I could list five bullish and five bearish scenario. So I just look at the fact that cash is a good $10 over the paper. We got bids of June +7. I doubt the packer wants to spend more now when could buy it cheaper later. So I’m sticking to my $2.02 leg. This will be my final leg of the year. I’m either going to get my nuts clipped back a little or I’m going to bank it. Tomorrow morning with the first red I see I’m going to be a buyer. If never red I’ll be a buyer at noon. So tomorrow at noon I will be Texas hedged in the last 20 days of the LEG. It’s a grosbeak market. COF Friday could be explosive with a trump administration. Don’t risk what you can’t afford to risk. Was nice when I was young I had nothing to risk.
