Subject: RE: Early Planted Beans

SE Iowa
This year all beans were planted in April expect one field. That one field was finished in late May due to weather and lining up a plot to be planted in that same field. Usually this field is at least average and it seemed like it was likely 5-10 BPA off the early beans.

In 2019 however our June 8th beans were better than our mid May mudded in beans by about that same margin.

We still will plant corn first in 2025. In a perfect world corn and beans would both be planted April 15-20th here but that’s just not possible for us.

Edit to add - If conditions are ever close to perfect always favor the corn as the beans are usually less picky on conditions.
