I didn't know that, either. When I asked my CPA, who is an Intuit advisor, he told me that the online subscription was the only one available..
I looked at the website, and the price for desktop was (I think) $399. That's not that high of a price for the 2024 program. It was higher than that when I got the first one back in 1995.
