Subject: Oats

Pittsburg, Kansas

I don't particularly agree or disagree. It may depend on the individual.

For example I being diabetic am very carbohydrate intolerant. Too many carbs raise my blood sugar excessively. So I limit them pretty severely. I don’t eat any grains including oats. Not all people have the problem I do.

So I think it is up to the individual to decide what is best for themselves.

Bikman is definitely not anti carb. He is definitely anti excessive carbohydrate consumption though. He believes, backed up by research, that excessive carbohydrate consumption or even carbohydrate consumption too often leads to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is a contributing factor for a myriad of diseases including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.

I think his analysis is worth considering.
