Also, food stamps can be cut, without affecting 'those that need it the most'. I can take you through our small town, where perfectly able bodied people work only odd jobs for cash, so that it doesn't affect their food stamp (actually EBT cards now) benefits. Many of them have jet skis and boats, as well as drive newer vehicles than you would expect. We adopted 2 girls, and need to make an annual report to a Nebraska HHS office, have been doing it for over 10 years now, and each and every time I pull into that lot, I have the oldest, lowest (book) valued vehicle (and I don't drive our oldest vehicle to the office).
There have been times I was the only one not in a later model Escalade or Yukon Denali. There are plenty of places it could be cut without starving anyone. | |
