I am also an engineer and I recognized and connected with many things in your post. I have many of the same skills, some of the same equipment, designed countless custom things, etc.

I have some bad character traits. I recognize that about myself. I notice when my brain goes down those bad engineering paths and I actively steer myself away from them. I can tell from your post that you have the same bad traits, and I can tell that you are either not recognizing that you have those bad traits or you are refusing to steer away from them. In typical businesses the engineers do not set the direction of the company. Other people set the direction, and the engineers fill in the gaps. Don't let your engineering brain steer the company.

You do everything yourself. You do everything in your own way. You plan everything to the tiniest detail. You see every problem as a technical problem because technical solutions are what you enjoy. You are incapable of seeing a problem as anything but a technical problem. You need to recognize that's just your engineering brain, and you need to shut that off when it comes to matters of steering the company.

You risked everything to put up a building of your own design. You entered that construction with no safety net and with your equipment in storage (no production income). You risked it all to put up a custom building. What a stupid risk to take. You could have moved the machines from your garage to a rented industrial space for 0 risk, no break in income, continued to live in and own your home, put the building design efforts towards chasing contracts.

You still have machines. Go rent an industrial space and get them running. Take a job to help pay the rent if you need to. Find a good accountant that you respect and can give you business advice and follow it. If you cannot find a good accountant that you respect then you need to look inward.
