| Appreciate. Get a job, abandon path is what I got. I realize I need to still rinse and swallow the additional 6 figures in equipment.
As for bld materials. 2x6s in my area went from $5 to $24. OSB went from $7 to 48$. I went so far as trying to buy direct from mills in TX before I stopped. Even at 2x the cost, I could not eat the additional cost.
It doesn't matter. Sounds like I need to eat my dream, admit I lost, and move on. Something I will just have to deal with. Probably continue to kick the can.
I see the comment questioning income in manufacturing. I realize no one where understands the biz, but that is why I chose that path. Yes indeed, I have stood with a stop watch and counted $800/hr on one machine. That is GROSS, so don't twist that, but even my j.o.b. will be gross. The best I will ever get in a job, if I work hard for many years, is near 6figs. I think I am most annoyed that I wasted over 20years for nothing. No family or even a home. I guess some live on the street and I still have my camper and dog. | |
