You are there or a bit beyond when it's time to replace a vehicle, as I put it, will hop in and drive to California in the middle of winter. There's a reason oil industry type trucks go to market with 120-140,000 miles. Lots of engine accessories will go to hell any time after that - alternator, water pump, etc. At that point the vehicle becomes a 5 hour truck to me - still can be solid transportation just not new reliable. I know a lot of people here will just say "send it" but most of those never go 5 hours from home...
The oil industry here dumps them because they become their own headache then, instead of the dealers'. |
