| Looking at one unit just under 1200 ‘ length. Doing 180 degree. I did not have the right questions to ask. The first was if 3 phase worth it? It seems that is not as big of an advantage as I thought.
I actually forgot to price single phase. As that source is 1/4 mile from intended platform. I admit I got hooked at distance from different source points of phase at 4pm on a Friday.
So Tuesday I at least have a few more of the questions to ask. My area diesel engine irrigation have all switched to electric. The local fuel guy is my cousin. He said refueling of irrigation has dropped to nothing. Which he is not seriously unhappy about. Often muddy field road with no decent place to turn around, getting stuck backing out. Hoping farmer is near, has tractor to pull you out.
Was hoping weather nice to go out with pickup, gps find points, get idea of stuff, and look at different 40 acre CRP field I had not thought of in years. Once a gravel pit till +25 years ago. So CRP since .. 3 phase right in ditch on one side, single phase on 2 other sides.
Not one to try new 360 rain. Likely decent idea. But requires I suspect precision planting?
But Tuesday I can at least know more of questions to ask. Then decide about test wells, locations. Unless we get more snow I suspect they could be done by end of month.
The crazy idea of one new, one used is coming to me.
Anyone know of good program like irrigation guy uses? He sets point, clicks edge it draws a 360 circle that diameter. He can move its center, or change diameter, block off part and it gives acres in what’s marked.
I find point a-b. But it does not keep solid a point. So I want to check a-c I might be +-30’ off my guess where a was. Also what kind of a hole can irrigation handle?
The 40 has one sharp, steep 30 yard swamp. I have not farmed it +30 years. At least 20’, likely more drop to top of small puddle/swamp. So hopefully it could be made with towers going infront, behind? That section shut off? Yes arch of pipe really high. But unless high winds it should not matter? | |
