CNY | Yes supposedly Micron is building a chip plant on the Northeast side of Syracuse. They are building pretty much where the suburbs end so I don’t know how much farmland it’s really taking out. Most of it is in an industrial park the county already owned. There were a few families that owned land the County wanted and they held out and made some money.
Supposedly this is going to transform the economy for all of Central NY. We’ll see. The last thing that was going to save the economy here was a developer that convinced them a giant mall was it. He got a bunch of tax breaks for 30 years, built a giant ugly shoebox looking thing that is mostly vacant now | |
