I just bought a new family model 2011 Suburban with 197,000. It's not real pretty but it goes.
But I don't mind having to vehicle shop if one breaks down on a trip.
If your Ford is running and driving good I would not be nervous about going on long trips with it.
How many miles on vehicle are you comfortable with?
