Common grind is land website to buy/sell/lease farm ground
McBee family, from what I’ve been able to tell, are marketers/farmers/entrepreneurs that got in some big trouble when their dad plead guilty to millions of dollars worth of crop insurance fraud last year
Don’t know them personally, nor do we farm by them, so I can’t say anything about them personally
They farmed a lot of ground, ~30,000-~40,000 acres from what I was told. Rented every big piece of land they could get their hands on. Seems things have not worked out
They own lots of rental homes in Kansas City also, and the own a number of car washes/coffee shops in NWMO also
Rumor I heard last week at a kid's basketball game that crop adjusters are still going to Gallatin to try and figure things out.
Rumor I heard at a seed meeting last week is that there is more than one entity involved, likely at least 3.
Looking at common ground website and the leases: Lots of acres for sublease. It clearly states top bid doesn't always get the bid. Several lots the winning bid is the same buyers number as the starting bid. Most starting bids look like plenty for the the type of ground.
Also noticed the $415 Denver ground from December is back up for rent and is at $250 starting bid. But maybe my phone is messed up or the site is pulling up old information.
Not impressed with the common ground website and trying to navigate it. |
