| Never had irrigation. Have a couple fields that could really use it. One 40 acre, the other a 40 acre area of 120. So yes small scale.
So I got general info.
Question 3 phase overhead by road 1/2 mile then underground. Power company phone estimate *from my distance estimates*. @$40k. OR go underground thru my land from different direction @$30k.
So how much better is 3 phase then single phase? Which I think they said @$10k for phase converter, @$12k to dig it in.
So by my understanding 3 phase would cost @$10k more? *I have not found if any savings on 3 phase equipment yet.*. So is my guess 3 phase motors slightly cheaper? We are talking about 500 gallons a minute +20 hp motor? Too much info, changing *if we do it this way…*
The equipment, 2 end guns suggested. One 40’ range, one +90’ range he suggested. Both GPS turn on, off as needed. Anyone have that? Worth it? Or just let some water go places not needed cheaper? It’s not going to be on road, just non-farm wet ditch area.
I guess my question. How much cost is it to wet 40’ that does not need it, but far beyond causing issues to tower/tires. *as maybe 40’ beyond tower shooting further away*
It would be a 180 degree wiper. Irrigating @50 acres. About 85% of 40 acres that REALLY need it the rest normally does ok. *the sandy 40 acres been in CRP last 15 years*
Final question so far.
A new system Reinke dealer installed w/ cement base @$100k. But a 2007 Valley put in by crew out of NE that have done a dozen systems in area last decade I know about is @$50k. So half price for used.
I would not consider but neighbor has 3 of the Valley units from them. He knows the others who claim few issues. Plus the grandson of local Valley dealer is opening up for business 10 miles away. A established Valley dealer 25 miles away, 3rd 40 miles away so hopefully parts/service *as I am brand new to this*
Ok I lied, more questions. ;). A 20 yr old Valley? Or brand new Reinke for 2x the money? I sold some land so no interest payments involved.
I am cheap.
Right now *assuming test wells good, good well*. I am leaning toward new. But more I think of it $50k can buy lots of maintenance. And neighbors have expirence with this group… | |
