A lot of people claiming that breaking up states into other states is a waste of time and money don't live in the same world as I do or for as long.

Imagine living in 1950 and people talking about making schools spending the same for girls sports as for men's, imagine states banning the sale of internal combustion engine powered vehicles, imagine men getting married legally, imagine not being able to buy a gun because it's black, imagine marijuana state sanctioned dispensaries, imagine requiring a passport to go to Canada or Mexico, imagine not being able to enter the courthouse with a pocket knife, imagine a tax on fertilizer to stop terrorist, imagine being treated like a suspect to board a plane, and the list continues.

So don't ever believe something won't happen because of cost or law, obviously a lot does.
