That could work, only I am doing pre buyout, not really planning to touch a whole lot on what happened afterward. It would just be "After the company went bankrupt, IH was bought out by J.I Case, making the Case IH that is still around today" or something along those lines. But thank you all for the information and responses.
This is from January 1985, Farm Journal, premerger.
It is important to note that it was Tenneco who bought IH's ag division. Case, nor IH's ag division, wasn't terribly enthused at the #1 company in agricultural equipment being merged with an engine, construction, and tractor company, who wasn't in the top 5 in agriculture, but was in the top 5 in most construction markets.
Tenneco's board had declared Case must be made profitable or be sold or spun off. So, IH was the best way to do both. | |
