NEKS | I think it should be noted that it’s not just Gleaner heads that don’t work like a Macdon. Nobody’s head works like a Macdon because nobody’s is designed how a Macdon is. It’s not some prejudice against Gleaners headers it’s plain and simple because of Macdons design. Until you run it and understand it your in the dark about it. All other heads have so much going on (linkages, joints, rods, tie rods ect) that Macdon doesn’t and that enable MCD to run the cutterbar flatter and closer the ground without scooping up rocks or digging into the dirt ect ect. They just cut better because instead of a flexible cutterbar…it’s hinged and stronger (sickle still flexes like a flexible cutterbar does) I always feel like it sounds like a rant when I speak about it and it’s far from a rant. I’ve never had a flex cornhead but I imagine the flex cornhead similar to a Macdon flex head. They really do have a niche market. Case does the right thing, let Macdon build their flexers… | |
