Assuming you are the 59.5 and 5 years in, $125k comes out of roth with no tax at all.
I’ll be 73 in April, will have too draw 10% of my IRA and pay taxes on principal and growth. Still contributing to IRA keeping myself in lower tax bracket, as I’m still involved in family farm. Maybe I should just pay the higher tax bracket and be down with it.
I'm not an expert, but believe that there is no rmd with a roth either. The govt already has collected your taxes, so they don't require you to withdraw anything. A traditional they do, they want the taxes they have been waiting for!
And yes, all growth in a roth is tax free, that's the benefit.
